Gordon Dee Smith is the Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Insight Group. Dee Smith has over 35 years of experience in deep research and analytical disciplines including business intelligence, investment intelligence, litigation intelligence, geopolitical intelligence, and military intelligence. Since he founded the private intelligence agency Strategic Insight Group (SIG) in 1995, he has conducted thousands of intelligence and deep research projects for clients in dozens of industries, in areas ranging from investment intelligence to geopolitical forecasting, corporate market and competitor analysis, customer and brand intelligence, corporate fraud investigations, litigation intelligence, and military intelligence and counter-terrorism. He has led investigations of subjects in over 75 countries. These include large-scale projects in Western and Eastern Europe, South Asia, East Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa, as well as throughout the United States. Before he founded SIG, Smith was president of Cima International, a UK-based European/Latin American venture capital group. Prior to that, he was president of InterCultura, an international exhibition exchange organization. His academic background comprises several research disciplines including archaeology, decipherment, geology, and musicology. He is currently a board member and Vice-President for Programs of the Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations, and a member of the boards of the Maya Research Program and Dallas Chamber Music, and a member of the Anthropology Committee of the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
