This is the second in a two-part series on the world’s most important resource – water! We covered Texas and the United States in part one, and today we look at water around the world.
The good news is that 71% of the earth is covered in water. The bad news is that 97% of it is in saltwater oceans, 2% in ice, and only just over 1% is available to us to produce food, drink and use for other reasons.
On this program, you’ll hear just how critical the water situation is, you’ll find out why and what is and can be done, and you’ll hear what you and others can do to assure a bountiful supply of clean and affordable water for all.
Joining Dennis McCuistion, is Lisa Hembry, co-hosting, Board member of the Trinity River Authority,
Rosario Sanchez, Ph.D., Senior Research Scientist, Texas Water Research Institute, and
Isis Mejias, Ph.D., Global WaSH Director, WaSH Rotary Action Group Ambassador.
Gabriel Eckstein, Ph.D., past president of the International Water Rights Association, joins in via a prior interview with Dennis.
