Americans who sit all day are more at risk of dying early than smokers. But here’s the good news: If you follow what our experts say about exercise, you can live longer, feel better and spend less time exercising than you might think. Joining host, Dennis McCuistion, to talk about how critical exercise and movement are:
- Bill Benac – Business man, cyclist,
- Alan Steelman – Former Member of U.S, Congress, and author of Yellow Brick Road,
- Dr. Theresa Oswald, MD – Founder and President, Knowledge As Medicine, and
- Russell Cleveland, Co- author of Swing Move.
Our experts tell us only 20% of Americans get enough exercise to stay healthy.
Today we are more sedentary. So we’re blessed with the sitting disease which increases our weight, and presupposes people to diabetes and heart disease. Exercise matters. It keeps us younger physically as well as mentally. From yoga, which has been advocated for physical, mental and spiritual health, and can be done at any age, and biking, which requires more physicality, may take more time and has more cost to just get up and move, as Russell Cleveland says as he shows us the Tiger Crawl, there is something exercise wise for everyone. Stand up, move, and count those steps!
