Sina Aslan, PhD is an Imaging Specialist, Center for BrainHealth, UT – Dallas as well as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. According to the BrainHealth website:
Sina Aslan conducts neuroimaging analysis and collaborates with several principal investigators at the Center for BrainHealth including Drs. Chapman, Krawczyk and Filbey. His work has been published in several prominent peer-reviewed journals in the field of MRI and neuroscience.
Sina Aslan founded Advance MRI, LLC in 2011 to assist neuroscientists, neurorehab clinics and pharmaceutical companies with their research interests. Prior to that he held several positions with industry leaders including: Metro-Optix (an Ericsson spinout), ExxonMobil Corporation and Cyberonics (Medical Device Company).
Sina Aslan’s research interests include identification of neuronal mechanism of the brain in healthy aging, traumatic brain injury and dementia with different MRI techniques. He is interested in identifying functional and structural biomarkers in the brain to better explain the relationship between physiological and structural change upon a neurotrauma, neuronal disease or healthy aging. He works with the following MRI techniques: Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL) MRI, functional connectivity MRI (fcMRI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) MRI.
Sina Aslan received his bachelor’s degree in computer science (magna cum laude), master’s of software engineering and master’s of applied cognition and neuroscience from The University of Texas at Dallas, and his Ph.D. in biomedical engineer from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.
