Richard Bitner is the managing director for Housing Wire.com, a division HW publishing. As a 14-year veteran of the lending industry, he spent five years as the President of Kellner Mortgage Investments, a Dallas-based subprime mortgage company. His new book Confessions of a Subprime Lender: Tales of Greed, Fraud & Ignorance:, provides a in-depth perspective on the players and events that caused the housing and mortgage crisis and what needs to be done to fix the lending industry.
He holds a master’s degree in communications for Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Northern Arizona University. He currently serves on the board of directors for Family Gateway, a Dallas-based transitional housing facility.
