The geopolitical landscape is undergoing rapid change brought about by what not too long ago might have been considered inconceivable technological advancements.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an area where China is especially determined to be the global leader by the end of this decade.

This raises critical strategic questions for the United States and our allies. And, if China does surpass the United States, what are the implications for democracy, and our economy?

Joining Host Jim Falk to discuss these implications is:

Dr. Paul Scharre, Executive Vice President and Director of Studies at the Center for a New American Security and the author of Four Battlegrounds: Power in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.

The U.S’ short-term thinking often puts us at a competitive disadvantage, and this is especially true with China where its leaders tend to think ahead not just in years but decades.

Can international regulations organizations address the fact that the United States along with its liberal democratic allies might have a very different goal than that of China, Russia, and the growing number of authoritarian states who see AI as a means to gain and maintain power?

Join us on Sunday, October 8, to sort through these questions and concerns.
