Gary Short is a retired Jones Day partner. He was previously a partner in Vinson & Elkins and Akin Gump. Gary was selected by his peers for inclusion in “Best Lawyers in America” for 20 consecutive years. Gary’s undergraduate work was at Colorado College and Grove City College, and he also completed the coursework and comprehensive exams for a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Virginia. His law degree is from the University of Miami, and he also earned an LLM (in Tax) from SMU. Gary is an avid tennis, racquetball, and (recently) pickleball player, and has a life-long interest in classical liberal thought.
