Statistics show one in five Americans who commit suicide is a veteran. Overall suicide is the leading cause of male deaths with four times as many males dying by suicide.

Yet, there are numerous factors that can help prevent suicide including the care giving and outreach suicide crisis lines offer and the awareness programs offered by the Veterans’ Administration. Our experts discuss the risk factors involved in suicide fatalities and the importance of awareness. More than 90% of suicide victims have these risk factors. The risk for suicide is associated with changes in brain chemicals caused by many different factors.
Knowing where to turn to for help, for yourself or a loved one can often be a lifesaver. Join us for a heartfelt look at suicide and what each of us can do to be more involved. Talking about things that matter… with people who care.
