Joining Host Jim Falk are
Professor Jeffrey A. Engel, Ph.D., the founding director of the Center for Presidential History at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, and
Susan Colbourn, Ph.D., the Associate Director of the Triangle Institute for Security Studies at Duke University, and the author of a new book, Euromissiles, The Nuclear Weapons That Nearly Destroyed NATO.
Just a few years ago, NATO ( the North Atlantic Treaty Organization) was described by France’s President as brain dead.
But thanks to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. NATO and the Transatlantic Alliance appear to be even more united.
Putin has justified the invasion with a long list of grievances he has against the West, including NATO’s expansion that took place following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, which he believed threatened Russian sovereignty.
Our guests discuss how the Ukraine war has actually unified NATO and what as a result NATO’s role might be in the future.
