According to a survey conducted by The US Chamber of Commerce Foundation, 70% of Americans fail a basic civics test- and they are registered voters!
Most cannot name the three branches of government, the legislative, executive and judicial and the powers each can legally exercise.
Joining host Jim Falk to talk about these issues are:
John Meko, President of Founding Forward and
David Bobb, Ph.D., President and CEO of The Bill of Rights Institute.
Founding Forward focuses on immersive civics education. They work with thousands of students and teachers every year teaching them the principles and history of the United States.
The Bill of Rights Institute teaches history and civics working with more than 80,000 teachers who reach more than 8 million students a year. They seek an America where we more perfectly realize the promise of liberty and equality as expressed in the Declaration of Independence. Their goal: to help students become more knowledgeable and engaged and examine the history of our country.
Join us for a discussion on The State of Civics Education Today.
